Cheap Startup Shoutout That Isn't a Directory

CrowdSpark shoutouts are $1 for the first listing, then at least $1 more than current #1. A shoutout is a row on the public ranking board with your name, optional URL, and 140-character note. Not a banner, not a directory listing like BetaList or Uneed. One-time payment, no submission form, no editorial review.

What Is a CrowdSpark Shoutout?

A CrowdSpark shoutout is one row on the public ranking board containing:

  • Your display name (1-64 characters, required)
  • Optional clickable URL
  • Optional note (up to 140 characters)
  • Payment amount (publicly visible)
  • Timestamp

How Is This Different from Directories?

Launch directories like BetaList, Uneed, and similar platforms typically offer:

  • Dedicated listing pages with descriptions, images, and features
  • Submission forms and editorial review processes
  • Categorization and search functionality
  • Fixed pricing tiers ($9, $19, $49, etc.)
  • Featured placement options

CrowdSpark offers none of these. You get a single row on a ranking board. No listing page, no submission form, no editorial review, no categories, no search. Just name, URL, note.

Why Would You Use This Instead of a Directory?

You wouldn't necessarily choose one over the other. They serve different purposes:

  • Directories provide structured listings, editorial validation, and category-specific audiences
  • CrowdSpark provides a ranking position with instant payment and no approval process

If you want a full listing page with images and features, use a directory. If you just want your name and URL on a public board, use CrowdSpark.

What Does $1 Get You?

$1 is only the minimum when the board is empty. After the first entry, the minimum is current #1's amount + $1. So if #1 paid $8, the minimum is $9.

Is This Permanent?

Yes. All entries are permanent. Your shoutout stays on the board forever, even as new entries take #1 and you drop down the list.

Do You Get Traffic?

No guarantees. You're buying a position on a public board, not traffic or impressions. If people visit the board and click your URL, that's incidental. See our FAQ for more details.
