How CrowdSpark Takeover Pricing Works: The 1.25x Rule
Open slots start at $5. The next price is current × 1.25, rounded up, always at least $1 more: $5 → $7 → $9 → $12 → $15.
The rule in one line
Next price = max(ceil(current × 1.25), current + $1), in whole dollars. Open slots start at $5.
Worked example
- $5 × 1.25 = $6.25 → round up to $7 (also ≥ $6)
- $7 × 1.25 = $8.75 → $9
- $9 × 1.25 = $11.25 → $12
- $12 × 1.25 = $15 → $15
Why round up, and why at least +$1
Without a floor, small prices can stall when 1.25× rounds back to the same dollar. The +$1 floor and whole-dollar ceiling keep every takeover strictly higher.
How fast a busy slot climbs
After about 10 takeovers a slot is around $60; after about 20 it is in the hundreds. Prices limit themselves.
What the displaced owner gets
Site credit equal to the full price they paid (cash plus any credits they used). Credit is closed-loop: use it on CrowdSpark only. It is not cash and cannot be withdrawn. See the Terms.
Where the money goes
Card payments go to CrowdSpark (via Stripe). Nobody pays the previous owner. Displacement is handled with site credit, not a payout.
