How it Works

The Basic Rule

Empty board: First person pays $1.00 to take #1.

After that: You must pay at least $1.00 MORE than the current #1's amount. Paying more than the minimum is allowed.

Example Flow

1. Alice pays $1.00 → Alice is #1

2. Bob must pay at least $2.00 to take #1

3. Bob pays $2.00 → Bob is #1, Alice moves to #2

4. Carol must pay at least $3.00

5. Carol pays $10.00 (more than minimum) → Carol is #1, Bob is #2, Alice is #3

6. Next person must pay at least $11.00

How Rankings Work

Rankings are ordered by recency of validated payment
Newest payment becomes #1
Previous #1 moves to #2, previous #2 moves to #3, etc.
All entries are permanent (never deleted)
You can't update your entry after payment

Payment Process

Fill the form: Enter your display name (required), optional URL, optional note, and amount
Validation: System checks that your amount meets the current minimum
Checkout: You're redirected to Stripe's secure payment page
Pay: Complete payment with credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay
Confirmation: After successful payment, you appear on the ranking board

What Can You Include?

Display Name (required): 1-64 characters. This is how you appear on the board.

URL (optional): Link to your website, project, portfolio, or anything you want. Must use http:// or https://. The link is clickable on your entry.

Note (optional): Up to 140 characters. Add a message, tagline, or description.

Race Conditions

If two people try to pay at the exact same minimum simultaneously, our system uses database transaction locks to ensure only the first validated payment succeeds. The second person's payment would be rejected (and not charged).

No Refunds

All payments are final. You're purchasing a ranking position, which is delivered immediately upon payment confirmation. There are no refunds.
